I have had the argument of global warming with several different people who disagree with the theory.
Usually there first response is to argue that the earth is not actually warming. Some even claim we are in a period of temp decline. Something they heard on Glen Beck.
When you show them some charts or graphs that prove otherwise there second defense is usually that this is all part of the natural cycle of the earth and perfectly normal. If you point out the evidence in tree rings or ice cores from the antarctic they will usually spout something about the conspiracy from Al Gore and the liberal scientist who some how plan on getting rich from perpetuating this myth on the rest of the world. Again Glen Beck and Rush.
In my experiences most people will refuse to acknowledge any problem unless it directly and repeatedly affects THERE lives. The problem with global warming is.By the time it becomes clear that humans have caused the problem we will almost certainly have reached that tipping point in CO2 levels that make any policy's we enact useless. The changes that would have to happen now in the US and around the world are virtually impossible to implement.
And in the end those people who denied the problem all along. Will just claim that it is just there god punishing us for our sins. And in a strange way they will be right
